Year end is rapidly approaching. As you are aware, the call volume into Support triples at this time of year and wait times can exceed 60 minutes. To help you and your customers survive year end processing, listed are a number of resources we encourage you to take advantage of.
- Sage BusinessWorks will be offering End of Year training sessions twice a week starting mid-November until the end of December. These free courses can be found on Sage University and include:
- How to Install Enhanced Tax Reporting.
- Setting up Fringe Benefits.
- How to Process W-2’s in Enhanced Tax Reporting.
- Payroll Year End Processing.
- Make sure you order or purchase the correct W-2/1099 forms.
- Sage BusinessWorks v7 through 2011.
- Using “Print W-2’s”—Two per sheet preprinted W-2 or 1099 forms.
- Using “Enhanced Tax Reporting””—Four per sheet Plain Paper Perforated froms for both W-2 and 1099.
- Sage BusinessWorks 2012 or 2013.
- Using either “Print W-2’s” or “Enhanced Tax Reporting””—Four per sheet Plain Paper Perforated froms for both W-2 and 1099.
- We strongly recommend that customers do a pre run of their W-2’s in early December to make sure they have the correct forms and reconcile their payroll information verifying that the W-2’s are correct. It is a lot easier to get ahold of Support in early December then in January.
- We cannot emphasize strongly enough that it is critical customers backup their data. We recommend you back up data daily, but at the end of the year please:
- Backup after the last payroll and save.
- Backup before closing the payroll year and restore this backup (archive) to a new id such as PR2013.
- Use Sage BusinessWorks backup utility even if you have another backup program. If you need assistance from Sage Support, we cannot help restore third party backups.
- Other resources available to get quick answers to your End of Year questions are:
- Sage Live Chat.
- Sage City Community.
- Email support at [email protected] (average 24-hour response).
End of Year Documentation will be posted at the first of December on the Sage BusinessWorks site. |
