Sage Summit: Sage 500 ERP Announcements

It was an exciting week at our annual partner and customer conference, Sage Summit 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee, and we have received very positive feedback from attendees. If you did not have a chance to attend the Sage Summit Keynote address, I would like to share a couple important points and encourage you to review the presentation.

During the keynote, we laid out our new global product strategy to develop cloud and mobile solutions, which will support your business and the evolving needs of the ERP market. We announced that we are committed to supporting Sage 500 ERP for at least five more years. We communicated the Sage 500 ERP 2013 release (available December 2012) and received an enthusiastic response.

We also announced investments in Sage ERP X3 to enhance its financial features, ease of deployment, and further enhance its web usability. As we invest in and develop the solutions needed for our customers, we are realigning investments across our portfolio of Sage solutions. Sage ERP X3 is included in the products that will be receiving this increased investment. Our efforts will be focused on providing the features and tools to make it easy for you to upgrade to Sage ERP X3 if and when you would like to take advantage of its extensive capabilities.

We fully stand behind the Sage 500 ERP product and its customer base and have not changed our plans to move forward with future releases of the product. Be assured that we intend to provide updates and customer support for at least another five years for all of our customers who keep their maintenance plan current.

Sage 500 ERP 2013 Release

The enhancements included in the upcoming release will:

  • Deliver improved user experience with Visual Process Flows.
  • Simplify pricing maintenance with Global Pricing Updates.
  • Expedite lockbox and mass payment processing with the ability to Import Pending Cash Receipts.
  • Accelerate Period End Closing through the ability to lock down sub-ledgers and with easier to use Cash Management interface.
  • Reduce fraud exposure and expand payment entry options with Sage Exchange.

For those who may want to explore Sage ERP X3, we are developing a clear migration strategy for Sage 500 ERP to Sage ERP X3, including future cloud and mobile solutions. We understand that you've made a significant investment in Sage 500 ERP, and when the time is right for you to transition your business to Sage ERP X3, we will work with you to minimize the learning curve and impact on your investment.

If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact me or your Sage business partner. Thank you for your continued commitment to Sage solutions.

Best regards,
