Government-Mandated Changes and Software Updates
This notice contains the 2012 year-end updates for Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (formerly Sage Timberline Office) and Sage Estimating, in addition to enhancements and fixes.
Install the Year-End Software Update if ANY of the following apply to you:
- You use Payroll to pay employees – Whether you issue checks or direct deposit, you must install this year-end software update in addition to updating your 2013 payroll taxes before processing any 2013 checks so the new Medicare tax will calculate correctly. (The 2013 payroll tax download will be available in late December.)
- You use Accounts Payable to generate Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099-INT, or Form 1099-DIV – Install this year-end software update before generating Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099-INT, or 1099-DIV to ensure your forms are in compliance.
- You use Property Management to generate Form 1099-INT – Install this year-end software update before generating Form 1099-INT to ensure your forms are in compliance.

To determine the version and update you have installed, open any application. Click Help > About to view the version and update number.
Note: Due to the importance of year-end information, we are sending this notification to all known contacts within your organization. Following year-end, we will resume distributing communications to only your primary contact.
