Follow up from October 8 webcast: The updated Sage North America partner program

Thank you to those of you who were able to join the partner webcast on October 8, where we shared the details of the updated partner program for Sage North America. If you were unable to join the session, please make sure to review the webcast recording that is posted on Sage Sell to learn more about the updated partner program, which is now in effect.

We understand the importance of delivering a partner program that nurtures and develops a healthy, vibrant partner community that is aligned and focused on winning together with Sage.

Essential to our success, we are committed to investing in our partners and working collaboratively to offer a world-class partner program that will enable you to be wildly successful, profitable, and equipped to provide your customers with extraordinary experiences. To win together, our updated Sage North America partner program has five key strategic objectives:

  • Market share growth
  • Revenue growth
  • Customers for life
  • Transition to subscription
  • Partner value creation

Key elements that are changing

  • Core subscription margins will be increased for renewals and add-on purchases after the first year for Premier partners (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver tier levels).
  • New customers are defined as brand-new customers or existing customers who have not been on an active plan or made any purchases from Sage within the last five years.
  • Partners can increase their margin levels above the base margin by meeting or exceeding set total product revenue growth objectives—and can earn even higher margins by achieving both the growth objectives and hitting new customer revenue goals.
  • Partners can move up real-time for growth and new customer margins and move down quarterly.
  • Growth and new customer margins will be measured on a 12-month rolling schedule.
  • Installed base (IB) and new license revenue (NL) are now paid the same margins. This not only simplifies the program, but may increase the margin payout for partners.
  • There is a threshold level increase for the mid-market solutions (MMS) Silver threshold level.

What elements of the program are not changing?

  • Sage Business Care margins remain the same.
  • Sage Business Care margins continue to be based upon the tier level achieved by your product sales.
  • First-year new customer core subscription margins are the same as perpetual license margins.
  • Diamond, Platinum, and Gold tier thresholds remain the same for MMS.
  • All Sage product revenue applies toward tier attainment.
  • Connected services margins remain the same.
  • Tier multipliers for Sage HRMS, Sage Fixed Assets, Sage BusinessVision Accounting, and Sage BusinessWorks Accounting remain in place.

How do I get more information regarding these changes?

Please review the updated partner program guide and the FAQ, which include the updated program details, tier schedule, and outline the changes to the program. These documents, as well as a copy of the presentation from the webcast, can be found on Sage Sell.

The current self-service dashboard for tier will continue to be available, but will only show data through September 30, 2015. However, effective October 19, 2015, the new dashboard will be live and represent the new structure, along with the updated data.

New marketing rewards programs!

Acquiring new customers and growth are fundamental to the success of our mutual businesses. As a part of the updated North America partner program, we are launching an enhanced marketing program for all Sage partners, as well as a marketing rewards program for partners who achieve a minimum of $50,000 in total product revenue—all designed to empower our partners with significantly more marketing assets and created to help generate more pipeline opportunities. Stay tuned for more details!

We encourage you to contact your regional sales representative or [email protected] if you have questions or would like to collaborate with Sage to grow your business.
