The Affordable Care Act and Sage 300 ERP

For many companies in the U.S., staying on top of the Affordable Care Act is critical—and challenging—particularly when it comes to obligations under the law. With all the delays, legislative changes, and shifting regulatory interpretations over the past few years, it is easy to feel a little overwhelmed now that we are well into 2015.

We want to help you navigate through healthcare reform and answer your questions, which is why we’ve set up the Affordable Care Act center on Sage City. The site includes many resources that you may find useful in understanding all the responsibilities around ACA, as well as ACA materials specific to Sage 300.

If you think your business may be impacted by ACA, make sure to visit the Affordable Care Act center on Sage City and utilize the free on-demand training. You will learn more about how to navigate compliance as it relates to the new healthcare legislation, requirements related to employers and employees, the various elements of a healthcare plan, and new and existing terminology related to healthcare legislation.

The Affordable Care Act center on Sage City is your one-stop destination for information regarding ACA and Sage 300 ERP —we hope you’ll take advantage of this valuable resource. View FAQ.

California's new paid sick leave law (AB 1522)

The Healthy Workplace Healthy Family Act of 2014 (AB 1522)

Approved by the Governor of California on September 10, 2014, the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act, employees who work in the state of California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are now entitled to paid sick days.

For customers in California, this means they now have to accrue for these paid sick days, either under the accrual method or the lump sum method. To help your customers understand how to meet this obligation in Sage 300 ERP, please review the examples that we have published in this FAQ.
