The Affordable Care Act and Sage 300 ERP

For many companies in the U.S., staying on top of the Affordable Care Act is critical—and challenging—particularly when it comes to obligations under the law. With all the delays, legislative changes, and shifting regulatory interpretations over the past few years, it is easy to feel a little overwhelmed now that we are well into 2015.

California's new paid sick leave law (AB 1522)

The Healthy Workplace Healthy Family Act of 2014 (AB 1522)

Approved by the Governor of California on September 10, 2014, the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act, employees who work in the state of California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are now entitled to paid sick days. 

For customers in California, this means they now have to accrue for these paid sick days, either under the accrual method or the lump sum method. To help your customers understand how to meet this obligation in Sage 300 ERP, please review the examples that we have published in this FAQ

Please see the newest reports specific to Sage 300 ERP that have been added:

  • Report Designer Trial Balance
    This trial balance lists closing balances of ledger accounts selected for fiscal years at run time. With three layouts, by default the layouts will show the trial balance for the current period. You can change this value to show the trial balance for other periods in the data you selected at run time. Note: you will need the Report Designer module license for this report. Download now
  • Sales Rep Commission
    This basic report allows you to analyze your sales data by rep for the period selected at run time. There are two layouts, including a detailed layout showing information such as document number, document date, customer, items sold, and the different sales rate. You can filter the the layout by representative using a slicer. The second layout is simply a summary of the sales rep information by the different sales rates. Download now
  • Report Designer Cash Flow
    The cash flow shows how changes in balance sheet accounts and income affect cash and cash equivalents and breaks the analysis down to operating, investing, and financing activities. Essentially, the cash flow statement is concerned with the flow of cash in and out of the business. There are two layouts in this report, cash flow and cash flow detail.
