Important update: Sage 100 and Sage 300 payroll customers now pay only for the employees for whom they process payroll.

On Monday, September 14, we sent an announcement regarding our transition to payroll tiering. We are making this change to align with the market that is moving toward usage-based pricing for payroll offerings. With this change, Sage customers will only pay for the range of employees they pay. U.S. customers will further benefit by paying once for their payroll updates with direct deposit bank fees included. 

However, based upon valuable partner feedback requesting more time to fully understand all the details of the payroll tier changes prior to notification of customers, we are making the following adjustments to our rollout plan:

  1. Sage is pushing out the effective date of payroll tiering from November, 1, 2015, to December 1, 2015.

  2. Therefore, rather than notifying Sage Business Care customers of this change starting September 18, 2015, we will communicate this change starting the week of October 23 for those customers whose Sage Business Care plans are coming up for renewal in December.

Sage X3 Sales App version 2 now available for download

We are excited to announce the newest version of the Sage X3 Sales App, an intuitive, mobile solution that connects your sales force to Sage X3 though an iPad.

With this self-service app, your sales team has the ability to make smarter decisions more quickly by accessing real-time customer information such as order history, dashboards on overall sales and specific product sales, and much more—online and offline.

The latest version includes several enhancements such as a redesigned user interface, a new lateral paging navigation, the ability to search products by site and customer, a new deliveries menu, and new syncing options.

The Sage X3 Sales App version 2 is available on the Apple Store and is available for Sage X3 Version 6.5 (Patch 31 or higher), Version 7.1 (Patch 7 and higher), and Product Update 8.0 from July 27, 2015.

Current Sales App customers: Please note that this new version is not an update of the current app, but a different app under the name “Sage X3 Sales V2.” In order to handle the data transmission between this app and Sage X3, customers must also install patch files provided by Sage.

Sage Fixed Assets 2015.2 now available for download

Sage is proud to announce the release of Sage Fixed Assets 2015.2 on September 4, 2015. Customers and partners can download this update to our on-premises fixed asset management software directly from the customer portal.

In addition to performance improvements, the major change in Sage Fixed Assets 2015.2 release is the upgrade from Sybase 10 to Sybase 16. This solves issues regarding license compliance and future product development, as SAP is no longer supporting Sybase 10. 

Sage Time is now available

Included with the acquisition of PayChoice, Sage Time is a SaaS time and attendance solution that is integrated to Sage HRMS.

With Sage Time, you can take advantage of the opportunity to generate more income and offer an additional value-add time and attendance solution to your customers and prospects.

We will continue to sell Sage Time and Attendance by Insperity. If you’re wondering which solution to sell (Sage Time and Attendance by Insperity or Sage Time), for customers or prospects who prefer an on-premises license or managed hosting product, Sage Time and Attendance by Insperity is a better fit. For customers or prospects who require a SaaS product with mobile access, geographical tracking, geofencing, facial recognition (available on Android only at this time), and scheduling capabilities, as well as compatible hardware for time-tracking purposes, Sage Time is a better fit.

Sage HRMS 2016 is coming soon

The release of Sage HRMS 2016 is planned for October and includes several new and improved features and benefits. Highlights are:

  • An improved interface providing easier navigation between Sage HRMS and Sage Employee Self Service (Sage ESS).*
  • Single sign-on functionality so you can log on once with access to both Sage HRMS and Sage ESS.
  • The ability to log on to Sage ESS as a specific employee (controlled by security settings.)
  • Connected services to easily access solutions added on to your core HR program.
  • Enhanced photo importing capabilities in the core HR program and the option for employees to add their own photos in Sage ESS.
  • Enhanced document storage in Sage HRMS.

Sage HRMS 2016 with My Workforce Analyzer* complies with the provisions of the Affordable Care Act that allow you to generate ready-to-file forms 1094-C and 1095-C from within your HR or payroll program.

PCCharge will no longer supported after September 30—are your customers ready?

Five things you need to know

  • PCCharge will not be supported by Verifone after September 30, 2015.
  • Sage 100 and Sage 500 ERP customers who use PCCharge to process payments will no longer be in PCI compliance.
  • Sage Payment Solutions gives you a replacement for customers that is already built into and seamlessly integrates with Sage 100 and Sage 500 ERP.

Sage 100 ERP, Sage 300 ERP, and Sage ERP X3 become Sage 100, Sage 300, and Sage X3 on July 27

Starting Monday, July 27, all ERP references have been removed from Sage 100 ERP, Sage 300 ERP, and Sage ERP X3.

Sage will continue the move away from the mainstream ERP category to convey our shift to more usercentric business management solutions by officially changing the product names to Sage 100, Sage 300, and Sage X3.

It’s important to note that the name change applies only to assets that will be used from July 27 onward, which does not include any material related to older releases of the product. Updated logos and corresponding marketing materials will be available on Sage Sell in the coming weeks.

Sage 300: Payroll module 7.2

With the upcoming release of Sage 300 2016 later this year, Sage will release version 7.2 of the Payroll module in Sage 300. Effective January 2016, support for previous Payroll versions will be discontinued, and tax updates for these versions will be discontinued.

What does this mean for customers?

Sage 300 customers using Payroll 6.0 will need to upgrade their entire system and modules to a version compatible with Payroll 7.2. The final update Payroll 6.0 was released in July 2015 for Canadian Payroll, and will be released in September 2015 for the United States.

Customers utilizing Payroll 7.0 or Payroll 7.1 will need to upgrade their Payroll module once Payroll 7.2 is released. The last update for Payroll 7.0 and 7.1 will be released in September 2015.

Sage 300 customers on a Sage Business Care plan will receive Payroll 7.2 as part of their product update.

Sage Fixed Assets currency rate adjustment

Sage Fixed Assets applied a currency exchange rate adjustment on August 1, 2015. The increase in the exchange rate of the Canadian dollar against the U.S. dollar has necessitated this adjustment.

Starting August 1, 2015, we will use an exchange rate of 1 U.S. dollar = 1.27 Canadian dollar. The exchange rate will be fixed for a period of one year and readjusted, up or down, based on the exchange rate a year from now.
